While we commend Superintendent Marten on this nomination, our efforts continue at the local level. Our frustration from the beginning has been San Diego Unified’s lack of focus around getting our students back in the classroom. This announcement makes it all the more difficult since the Board’s time will be tied up searching for a new superintendent.
Our emotions right now are with the 100,000 students who haven’t set foot in a classroom in almost a year. What does this appointment mean for them?
We hope this nomination will serve as a call to action for all San Diego Unified Parents. Our voices matter now more than ever in deciding what kind of leader the Board hires to move our district forward.
